Fluffy, warm, and comforting, pancakes can be customised with fruits, nuts, or spices. Whether sweet or savoury, they’re perfect for mornings or indulgent treats, but can also be made healthy by following a few simple tips.
Swap refined flour for whole wheat, oat, or almond flour to increase fibre and nutrients.
Incorporate mashed bananas, grated apples, or blueberries into the batter for natural sweetness and vitamins.
Replace sugar with honey, maple syrup, or jaggery to reduce processed sugar content.
Add ingredients like Greek yoghurt, protein powder, or cottage cheese to the batter for a protein boost.
Use non-stick pans or healthy oils like coconut or avocado oil to minimise unhealthy fats.
Sprinkle flaxseeds, chia seeds, or crushed nuts into the batter for added crunch, omega-3s, and nutrients.
Top pancakes with fresh fruits, nut butter, or plain yogurt instead of sugary syrups or whipped cream.
