Shakshuka is one of the quintessential Middle Eastern dishes that has skyrocketed in popularity in recent years. The dish features eggs, tomato sauce, and various spices in a delicious blend while also being exceptionally filling. Here's a recipe for you to try:
2 tbsp olive oil 1 onion 1 red bell pepper 3 garlic cloves 2 tsp ground cumin 1 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper 800 gm crushed tomatoes Salt and pepper to taste 4-6 large eggs Fresh parsley
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion and bell pepper until softened.
Add garlic, cumin, paprika, and cayenne; cook for 1 minute. Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Make wells in the sauce and crack an egg into each well. Cover the skillet and cook until eggs are set (about 5-7 minutes).
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.
