Lucknowi Basket Chaat, also known as Tokri Chaat, is a street food from the city of Lucknow. Crispy potato baskets filled with a tangy and spicy mix of chaat ingredients like chickpeas, yoghurt, chutneys, and spices are a crowd-pleaser at parties and perfect for festivals.
3 medium potatoes ½ cup boiled chickpeas ½ cup boiled moong sprouts ½ cup whisked yoghurt ¼ cup tamarind chutney ¼ cup green chutney 1 teaspoon chaat masala ½ teaspoon roasted cumin powder ¼ teaspoon red chilli powder ¼ cup sev Fresh coriander leaves Salt to taste Oil for deep frying

Grate the potatoes and rinse them in cold water to remove excess starch. Squeeze out the water and pat dry.
Shape small portions of the grated potatoes into baskets using a metal tea strainer or basket mould.
Heat oil in a deep pan and carefully lower the potato baskets into the oil. Drain on paper towels.
Mix boiled chickpeas and moong sprouts with chaat masala, cumin powder, red chilli powder, and salt.
Place the crispy potato baskets on a plate. Add a spoonful of the chickpea-sprout mixture into each basket.
Drizzle yoghurt, tamarind chutney, and green chutney over the filling.
Sprinkle sev, chopped coriander leaves, and additional spices like roasted cumin powder or red chilli powder.
Serve immediately to enjoy the crispiness of the potato baskets and the flavours.
