Among healthy sweets, ragi ladoo tops the list. Instead of using wheat or even besan, finger millet offers multiple health benefits along with the nutty flavour that will leave you asking for more.
¼ cup ghee 1 cup ragi ¼ tsp cardamom powder ½ cup jaggery A pinch of salt 2 tbsp crushed nuts 1 tbsp sesame seeds ¼ cup grated coconut
Roast ragi flour in a heavy bottom pan until you can get a whiff of a nutty scent.
Roast nuts and sesame seeds in the same pan before crushing them.
Cook the flour with ghee until the mixture becomes thick and binding.
Add jaggery, cardamom, and coconut. Cook until jaggery combines well with the dry ingredients.
Add nuts and seeds to the combination and keep it aside for a while. Shape the mixture into small ladoos.
Keep ladoos aside to set for at least 30 minutes before you relish them,
