Visit any South Indian restaurant in India and order dosa. It will be served with a bowl of red chutney. In most cases, the chutney boasts the flavours of garlic, coconut, and spices. Here is a tangy recipe you can try.
4-5 garlic cloves 1 teaspoon tamarind paste 2 tablespoons chana dal ¼ cup onions 3 tablespoons water 3-4 Kashmiri red chillies Salt to taste 2 tablespoons grated coconut
Rinse and chop onions and peel off garlic cloves.
Soak tamarind and red chillies in warm water for 15-20 minutes.
On a hot pan, roast chana dal for its crispy texture and smoky flavour.
Add ingredients to the food processor and blend into a thick paste.
Add water to adjust the consistency of the chutney.
Serve the chutney with dosa, idli, snacks, and other delicacies.
