India is famed as a producer of the world's finest mangoes. Haramzada, Gadha, Mallika, Langda, and many other adventurous Indian mango names are startling. The summertime is when mangoes truly shine in terms of sweetness and flavour. We've listed 15 distinct varieties of Indian mangoes.

Alphonso

The "King" of fruits is Alphonso mangoes. This mango from Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, has the best aroma, sweetness, creaminess, and flavour. Its thin, tough exterior hides luscious, succulent meat.

Bainganpalli

It's known as "The King of Mangoes in South India" because its pulp is succulent and sweet without a fibrous aftertaste.

Langra

Due to the abundance of Langra or Langda mangoes, Varanasi is considered a mango lover's heaven. Many say its form is off balance, hence its name.

Kesar

Kesar mangoes, nicknamed "Queen of Mangoes," are grown on the Gujarati slopes of Mount Girnar. Its pulp is saffron-coloured and tastes distinctive, hence the name kesar.

Sinduri

Tamil Nadu's  Sinduri or Sindhoora variety has attractive reds and hence the name. It's one of the cheapest. The supersweet "Sindhoora" mango is also known as "honey" mango.

 Dasheri

Among Indian mangoes Dasheri has a special mention. It grows abundantly in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Dasheri mangoes have delicious, aromatic, peach-hued pulp with no fibre.

Chausa

Chausa mangoes originated in western Uttar Pradesh. The pulp is aromatic and sweet sans fibre. One can gulp it in one go.

Himsagar

West Bengal's Murshidabad is noted for this variant of delicious mangoes. Himsagar mangos are most abundant in May and June.

Badami

Northern Karnataka produces famous Badami mangoes. The locals call Badami "Karnataka Alphonso" because of its delicious taste.

Totapuri

The "parrot's beak" mango, which is greenish and astringent, is found in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. It isn't too sweet.

Raspuri

Karnataka grows Raspuri between May and June. The Raspuri Mango may be the best-tasting and highest-yielding mango type if grown and harvested correctly.

Dudhia Baghalpuri

Dudhia means nearly white, while Baghalpuri means Bhagalpur sapling, hence the name. There's a raw rice aroma in this mango.

Bombay Green

Mango hunters in Punjab might stop in Sadda. Bombay Green Mangoes of Punjab are famous globally. These are available around May–July and are delectable.

Gadha

You find Fazri or Fazli, the season's last mango. It has a potential mass of 1 kilogramme. As it feeds donkeys, it's called Gadha aam. Strangely, it is edible for humans too.

Haramzada

An Indian variety of mango called Haramzada translates to "bastard." It's called so because it tastes insipid while appearing as a ripe mango.
