For the change of season, we often lack energy and feel lethargic. This black chana soup is highly nutritious as it contains black chana that is loaded with fibre. This soup helps in boosting energy levels and metabolism. Here’s how you can make black chana soup:

2 cups black chana 2 tbsp oil 1 tbsp cumin seeds 2-4 garlic cloves ¼ tsp asafoetida ¼ tsp ginger ½ tomato ½ tsp garam masala ½ tsp coriander powder ½ tsp cumin powder Salt to taste ¼ tsp black pepper powder 1 tbsp coriander leaves

Soak black chana overnight in 4 cups of water

Next morning, drain the water and pressure cook chana in 3 cups of water and salt. Cook for 4-5 whistles.

Stain the boiled chana and keep 4 tbsp of boiled chana aside.

Add the boiled chana to a blender and make a paste of it.

Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, ginger, garlic and saute for 30 seconds.

Add the chopped tomato and saute for a minute. Next add the paste and spices. Mix well. Cook for 2 minutes.

Add the left over water and boiled chana and cook for 5-6 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
