Kuttu Aata Banana Bread: A Healthy Tea Time Treat

With a nutty flavour, great texture and a boost of nutrition, kuttu (buckwheat) flour is one of the healthiest non-gluten-based carbohydrate to include in your diet using fun recipes, like this banana bread.

INGREDIENTS

1.5 cups kuttu aata 1 teaspoon baking powder ½ teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder ½ teaspoon nutmeg powder ½ teaspoon salt 3 overripe bananas 2 large eggs ¼ cup vegetable oil 3 tablespoons sour cream ¼ cup milk ¼ cup raw sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

METHOD

Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

Whisk together the eggs, sugar, milk, sour cream, oil and vanilla.

Mash the bananas and add it to the wet mixture, after which you can pour it into the bowl with the dry ingredients.

Use a fork or spatula to combine everything thoroughly before adding the chocolate chips.

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius and grease a loaf tin with butter.

Pour the batter into the tin and bake for 45 minutes, until an inserted knife comes out clean. Serve warm with tea or coffee.
