These Korean cream cheese buns are soft, fluffy bread with a rich cream cheese filling. The flavour profile of this dish is slightly sweet and savoury, which makes it more delicious. Here is how to make them at home.
For The Dough 2 cups maida (All-purpose flour) 120 ml milk 1 tsp active dry yeast 2 tbsp sugar ½ tsp salt 2 tbsp butter 1 egg For The Cream Cheese Filling 100 g cream cheese 3 tbsp powdered sugar ½ tsp vanilla essence For The Topping 3 cloves garlic 2 tbsp butter 1 tbsp honey 1 tbsp coriander
Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
Add flour, salt, egg, and softened butter to the yeast mixture.
Knead to form a smooth dough, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
Divide dough into 6 balls. Flatten slightly and place on a baking tray.
Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla essence. Let it chill for 10 minutes.
Pipe cream cheese mixture into each bun from the top.
Bake at 180°C for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
Mix garlic, melted butter, honey and coriander and brush over warm buns.
