The sour and tangy kokum fruit is steeped in water with sugar and spices to make the healthful Indian beverage kokum sharbat, which is then diluted with water and ice before being served.
1 cup dried kokum fruit 4 cups water 1 cup sugar 1 tsp roasted cumin powder 1 tsp black salt 1-inch piece of ginger, grated A few mint leaves (optional) Ice cubes
Soak the dried kokum fruit for at least 2-3 hours or overnight in 4 cups of water. Take bowl and Pour the mixture through a sieve.
Press the fruit down to get the most juice out of it. Now Combine the sugar and kokum juice in a pan
Now heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. Stir in the black salt, grated ginger, roasted cumin powder, and mint leaves.
Let the mixture cool before transferring it to a fresh, airtight container and putting it in the fridge.
To prepare, combine the kokum concentrate with chilled water and, if desired, ice cubes.
Now Add mint leaves as a garnish and serve chilled. Take pleasure in the tart and reviving flavour of handmade kokum sharbat!
