Know These Tips For Long Shelf Life  Of Your Non-Stick Pans

By Deepali Verma

In a little over a year, non-stick pans must be replaced. regardless of how cautiously we employ it. You can stop your non-stick pans' coating from flaking off by simply taking a few easy precautions while you're cooking.

Greasing

When heated, the thin coating of oil will keep the coating from washing away with the food. Just rub some fat—oil, butter, or ghee—and dab excess oil with absorbent paper. Next, begin cooking.

Do Not Use Metal

When stirring food, metal spoons and knives with sharp edges run the risk of scratching the pan's lining. While using non-stick pans for cooking, it is advisable to use silicone or wooden spatulas.

Cook On Low-Medium Heat

Non-stick pans work best with a low to medium flame; high heat can damage the coating's capabilities by melting and peeling off the coating.

Clean The Right Way

Clean the pan gently every time with light soap and a gentle sponge. Take the pan and soak it in a soapy solution for a while before washing it off to remove stubborn stains.

Keep the area where you intend to store your non-stick pans free of clutter. A non-stick pan should be hung on a hanger such that the bottom sides of the pans touch rather than the coating.

Store In Ample Space
