Kheema Pattice - A Delicious Snack Or Meal Accompaniment

INGREDIENTS [FOR STUFFING]

2 tablespoons oil ½ teaspoon fennel seeds 2 tablespoon garlic, minced 2 cups mutton kheema 1⅕ tablespoon ginger, minced 1⁄2 cup chopped onions 3 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander 2 green chillies, finely chopped 2 teaspoons ghati masala Salt, to taste

INGREDIENTS [FOR MASH]

8 -10 boiled potatoes 1 egg 1 pinch chilli powder ½ cup rice flour Oil, for deep frying 1 tablespoon breadcrumbs

STEP 1

Heat the oil in a pressure cooker and temper the fennel seeds, before sautéing the ginger, garlic, green chillies and onions for a few minutes.

STEP 2

Add the mutton mince followed by all the spices and coriander to mix well.

STEP 3

Add a cup of water and pressure cook the mixture for 4-5 whistles, until the mutton is completely cooked and absorbed the liquid.

STEP 4

Peel and mash the potatoes and add the breadcrumbs and chilli powder to it and mix well to combine, before dividing into equal portions.

STEP 5

Form the potatoes into a ball and flatten with your hands, before stuffing it with a tablespoon of mutton kheema.

STEP 6

Seal the stuffing with more mash and form into a patty before coating in rice flour and beaten egg.

STEP 7

Deep fry the pattice until golden-brown in colour and serve hot with ketchup.
