Kerala-Style Fish Fry At Home In Six Easy Steps

Love the taste of crispy Kerala-style fish fry? You can make some fish fry at home if you have the right ingredients. Though this dish is usually made with kingfish or pompfret and coconut oil, you can also use a different kinds of fish and oil. Let’s have a look at the recipe

Ingredients

500 grams of fish fillets (preferably kingfish, seer fish, or tilapia) 2 tablespoons red chili powder 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon lemon juice Salt to taste Curry leaves Coconut oil for frying

Step 1

Mix red chili powder, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, and salt to form a smooth paste. Clean the fish fillets and pat them dry with a paper towel.

Step 2

Apply the marinade generously on both sides of each fish fillet. Allow the fish to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Step 3

Heat coconut oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add a few curry leaves to infuse their flavor into the oil.

Step 4

Carefully place the marinated fish fillets in the hot oil. Fry them on medium heat, allowing each side to cook until it turns golden brown and crispy.

Step 5

Fry the fish in batches, if necessary, to avoid overcrowding the pan. Once the fish fillets are golden brown on both sides and cooked through, remove them from the pan
