Monsoon season can challenge pickle preservation due to increased humidity and moisture. To keep your pickles fresh and tasty, follow these effective preservation tips.
Always use sterilised glass jars to prevent bacteria and mould. Ensure jars are completely dry before filling them with pickles.
Keep your pickles in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight. A dark cupboard or pantry works best during the monsoon.
Use the right amount of salt and oil as they act as natural preservatives. Ensure the pickles are fully submerged in oil or brine to avoid spoilage.
Ensure hands, utensils, and jars are completely dry when handling pickles. Moisture can lead to mould growth and spoilage.
Inspect your pickles regularly for signs of spoilage. If you notice any off smells or mould, discard the affected batch immediately.
