1 cup horse ram Dal or kulith 1 slit green chili 1 inch ginger 4 garlic cloves 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder Salt to taste 1 tbsp rice flour 1 tbsp ghee 1 tsp cumin seeds 1/2 tsp asafoetida Fresh coriander leaves Water as required
Start by washing and soaking horse gram or kulith dal for around 20 minutes.
In a pressure cooker, add drained dal with 2 cups water. Add green chili, garlic, salt, turmeric and red chili powder.
Let the dal cook until 6 to 8 whistles. When done, mash the dal using a ladle and keep it aside.
In a bowl, add rice flour and water. Make a slurry. Heat ghee in another pan and cumin seeds and asafoetida.
Add the mashed dal and let it cook. When you see a single boil, add the rice slurry and let it cook.
When dal starts to thicken, add coriander leaves to garnish and serve. Enjoy!
