Karwa Chauth 2023: Easy Meethi Mathi Recipe For Sargi Thali

Ingredients

2 cups refined flour Water as required 3 cups ghee 4 to 5 saffron strands 1/2 cup oil 1 1/2 cup sugar 4 cardamom pods Saffron strands for sugar syrup

Step 1

In a bowl, add refined flour and 1/2 cup ghee. Mix well until everything is combined.

Step 2

Add warm water with saffron and knead the dough. When done, cover the dough and let the dough rise.

Step 3

Take a small portion of the dough and flatten it using a knife. Prick the flat top of the rolled dough.

Step 4

Take a pan and add 1/2 cup ghee and 1/2 cup oil. When the oil is hot, slide in the rolled mathri.

Step 5

Cook from both sides. Meanwhile, prepare a sugar syrup with two-string consistency.

Put the fried mathri in the sugar syrup. Garnish with sesame seeds and enjoy.
