Karela Fry: To Make the Fussy Eater In You Love Bitter Gourd!

If the mention of bitter gourd (karela) make you cringe, this recipe is going to make you fall in love with the veggie!

Ingredients

4 bitter gourd salt as required 1 cup mustard oil 1/4 teaspoon turmeric 1 teaspoon chilli powder water as required

Step 1

To begin with, wash and soak the karela with a dash of salt. Drain the excess water and cut thin slices of karela and transfer to a plate. 

Step 2

Sprinkle salt, turmeric and red chili powder, and marinate the karela. Keep aside for 20 minutes.

Step 3

Now take a pan and add oil, once the oil is hot enough, reduce the flame and gently slide the karela slices. Deep fry till they turn crispy.

Step 4

Take out the karela slices on tissue paper. Remove excess oil and serve hot.
