Kamal Kakdi Chaat is a street food snack originating from India. This tangy, sweet and spicy chaat is made with kakdi, also known as Indian cucumber, and dressed in a variety of chutneys and spices for an explosion of flavours in every bite.
2 kakdi peeled and diced 1 medium-sized boiled potato 1 small onion, finely chopped 2 tablespoons of roasted peanuts 1/4 cup sev For Tamarind Chutney: 1/4 cup of tamarind pulp 1/4 cup jaggery, grated 1 teaspoon of cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon red chilly powder 1/4 teaspoon black salt
For Green Chutney: 1 cup of freshly chopped coriander leaves 1/4 cup freshly chopped mint leaves 2 green chilies, chopped 2 tablespoons of lemon juice 1 inch of chopped ginger 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala Salt to taste
In a bowl, mix the chopped kakdi, boiled potatoes, onions, peanuts, sev and coriander leaves.
To make the tamarind chutney, combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan and cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until thickened. Set aside to cool.
For the green chutney, blend all the ingredients together in a blender until smooth.
To serve, top the chaat mixture with generous drizzles of both the tamarind and green chutneys.
Finish with a sprinkle of chaat masala and sev.
