Narkel Naru is a traditional Bengali coconut sweet, made during Kali Puja. With coconut, sugar, and khoya, this delicious dessert brings a touch of festive nostalgia to every household.
2½ cups desiccated coconut 1 cup sugar ¼ cup khoya (optional) ½ tsp green cardamom powder Ghee (few drops for greasing)
Dry roast the desiccated coconut on medium-low flame for 1-2 minutes, stirring continuously.
Add green cardamom powder and stir on the lowest flame for even mixing.
Add sugar and khoya, stirring until the mixture combines well and leaves the pan.
Remove the pan from heat and cover the mixture to cool down to room temperature.
Grease your palms with ghee, and roll 2 tbsp of the mixture into round balls.
Place the Narkel Naru on a greased plate and serve once set.
