Kala Chana Chaat is a nutritious and tangy Indian snack made with boiled black chickpeas, mixed with onions, tomatoes, and spices. Topped with fresh coriander and a squeeze of lemon juice, it's a refreshing and healthy dish, perfect for a quick snack or appetiser.
1 cup black chickpeas (kala chana) 1 onion 1 tomato 1 cucumber 1-2 green chilies 1 tbsp coriander leaves
1 tsp chaat masala 1 tsp roasted cumin powder 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp black salt Juice of 1 lemon Salt
Drain and rinse the soaked black chickpeas. In a pressure cooker, add the chickpeas and enough water to cover them.
Cook for 3-4 whistles or until the chickpeas are tender. Drain and let them cool.
In a bowl, add the cooked chickpeas, chopped onion, tomato, cucumber, and green chillies.
Sprinkle the chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, red chilli powder, black salt, and regular salt.
Add the lemon juice and mix everything well. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
