Kala chana chaat is a healthy and delicious snack made with black chickpeas (kala chana). It combines boiled kala chana with a mix of fresh vegetables such as onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers. It's a perfect blend of textures and flavours, making it a popular choice for a light, refreshing snack or an appetiser.
1 cup black chickpeas (kala chana) 1 onion 1 tomato 1 cucumber 1-2 green chilies 1 tbsp coriander leaves
1 tsp chaat masala 1 tsp roasted cumin powder 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp black salt Juice of 1 lemon
Drain and rinse the soaked black chickpeas. In a pressure cooker, add the chickpeas and enough water to cover them.
Cook for 3-4 whistles or until the chickpeas are tender. Drain and let them cool.
In a bowl, add the cooked chickpeas, chopped onion, tomato, cucumber, and green chilies.
Sprinkle the chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, red chilli powder, black salt, and regular salt.
Add the lemon juice and mix everything well. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
