Kala Chana Chaat: A Healthy Snack Ready In Minutes

Kala chana chaat is a nutritious and flavourful dish made from black chickpeas, tossed with fresh vegetables, tangy lemon juice, and spices. It's a healthy snack often eaten as a light meal and is packed with protein and fibre. 

Ingredients

1 cup black chickpeas (kala chana) 1 onion 1 tomato 1 cucumber 1-2 green chillies 1 tbsp coriander leaves 

Ingredients

1 tsp chaat masala 1 tsp roasted cumin powder 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp black salt   Juice of 1 lemon Salt 

Step 1

Drain and rinse the soaked black chickpeas. In a pressure cooker, add the chickpeas and enough water to cover them.  

Step 2

Cook for 3-4 whistles or until the chickpeas are tender. Drain and let them cool. 

Step 3

In a bowl, add the cooked chickpeas, chopped onion, tomato, cucumber, and green chillies.  

Step 4

Sprinkle the chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, red chilli powder, black salt, and regular salt.  

Step 5

Add the lemon juice and mix everything well. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
