Kai murukku is a crunchy South Indian snack you can prepare at home and relish with your evening tea. It can be your go-to munching delight when you are hangry and can’t concentrate on work. Here is a quick recipe to try.
1 tsp jeera 2 cups idli rice Oil for frying 1 tbsp butter ½ cup urad dal Salt to taste
Soak rice for a couple of hours and drain the water. Grind the grains into a smooth paste.
Add urad dal batter, salt, jeera, and butter to the mix and combine it well.
Grease the murukku tool and your palms with oil to make it easy to work with the rice-dal paste.
Add small balls of batter to the tool and start making kai murukku on a tray lined with butter paper.
Gently drop the concentric circles in hot oil and deep-fry until the crust turns crispy.
Drain murukku on a paper towel and store it in an airtight container. Enjoy this delicious snack.
