Kai murukku, which refers to the Tamil Nadu-special hand-rolled murukku is a traditional crunchy snack. Made with rice flour and urad dal, follow this easy recipe to try at home.

Ingredients

1 cup rice flour 1/4 cup urad dal 2 tablespoons oil A pinch of hing 1 teaspoon jeera 1 teaspoon sesame seeds Salt to taste Water as needed Oil for deep frying

Roast the rice flour and urad separately. Grind the roasted urad dal into a fine powder.

Step 2

Mix rice flour, urad dal flour, and all the spices.

Step 3

Add in slightly warm oil and water and knead a smooth dough.
