On August 26, 2024, devotees of Lord Krishna will be celebrating Janmashtami, the birth of the God. They feed him his favourite delights, including makkhan, peda, and more. Here is a quick recipe for how you can make delicious peda at home.
2 tbsp ghee 1 cup condensed milk 8-10 saffron strands ½ cup chopped nuts for garnishing 1.5 cups milk powder ¼ tsp crushed cardamom
Heat ghee in a pan and add condensed milk to it. Stir well to prepare a smooth concoction.
Gradually add milk powder and keep stirring to avoid lumps. Prepare a smooth and thick mixture.
Cook this delicious mix for 7-8 minutes on medium health until it stops sticking to the pan.
Add cardamom powder to the mix and keep it aside to cool off.
Prepare peda with hands, press saffron strands, and garnish with crushed nuts.
Refrigerate peda for some time before offering it to Lord Krishna and your guests.
