Jackfruit Fever: 7 Delectable Dishes From The State Of Kerala

Kerala cuisine makes use of some of the ingredients that we can’t think of. One of them is the extensive use of jackfruits. In their cuisine they make use of jackfruits in curries which are delicious to eat and are appetizing side dish to be accompanied by steaming rice or roti.

Chakkakuru Maanga 

It is a sweet curry made of boiled jackfruit seeds and ripe mangoes. The dish is flavored with a mix of spices like red chili powder, turmeric, asafoetida, and salt. Sometimes, grated coconut is also added to enhance the flavor and texture.

Kumbil Appam 

It is an authentic snack food of Kerala. Its prepared by cooking jackfruit bulb with rice flour, grated coconut and jaggery.

It is a stir fry side dish that can be consumed with rice. It is made of tender young jackfruit and tempered with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and green chilies.

This traditional delicacy involves slow-cooking ripe jackfruit with jaggery, grated coconut, and aromatic spices until it transforms into a dense and richly flavored jam-like consistency.

Chakka Chips
