Instant South Indian Suji Idli Recipe You Must Try Out

Do you want to have idli but are tired of the long process of preparation? You must try an instant suji idli recipe to cook this South Indian delight in a jiffy. You will no longer need to soak, blend, and ferment the ingredients for hours.

Ingredients

¼ cup curd Salt to taste 4-6 curry leaves A pinch of hing 1 cup suji or rava or semolina 1 teaspoon finely chopped green chillies 1 teaspoon mustard oil ½ teaspoon cumin seeds 1 teaspoon urad dal 1 tablespoon chopped coriander 1 tablespoon ENO ½ teaspoon mustard seeds

Step 1

Prepare the batter for idli by combining suji with curd, coriander leaves, and salt to taste. Keep it aside.

Step 2

If you like plain idli, you can simply add the batter to greased moulds and cook it for 15-20 minutes.

Step 3

If you wish to elevate the flavours of idli, take a hot pan, and add oil, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and hing.

Step 4

After sauteing ingredients for a while, add urad dal, green chillies, and cashews (optional). 

Step 5

Mix the tempering with the batter. Add a tablespoon of ENO to it to make idli soft.

Step 6

Add batter to moulds and cook. Serve delicious idli with coconut chutney, sambar, and tomato chutney.
