Deep-fried churros coated in cinnamon sugar are dunkable treats when enjoyed with chocolate sauce or caramel sauce. Experiment with this eggless version so that your loved ones who are vegetarian can relish this treat as well.
1 cup all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon baking powder ½ cup warm water ½ cup warm milk 1 pinch salt Oil, for deep-frying
Combine the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl and set aside while you add the water to a saucepan.
Add in the butter and allow it to simmer before tipping in the flour mixture and using a wooden spoon to mix while you pour in the milk.
Continue to mix everything over low heat until the mixture forms a dough around the spoon.
Transfer to a room temperature work surface and knead for a couple of minutes into a dough and put it into a piping bag.
Nudge the dough gently from the nozzle to form a cylindrical shape before using a pair of scissors to cut and drop into hot oil.
Fry for 2-3 minutes until golden-brown and toss in some cinnamon sugar. Serve hot.
