A meal is not complete unless you indulge in a dessert. If you are Indian, you must consider making rava kesari halwa and enjoying it with a full-fledged Indian meal. Here is a recipe that newbies can also try.
1 tbsp raisins 4-5 strands of saffron 1 cup sugar 2 tbsp milk 6 tbsp ghee 1 cup rava 2.5 cups water 3-4 tbsp cashews ½ tsp green cardamom
Heat ghee in a pan and saute cashews in it until they are slightly brown.
Keep cashews aside and saute raisins in it.
Meanwhile, soak saffron strands in warm milk.
After removing the raisins, roast rava in ghee. Once it fills the kitchen with its aroma, add water and sugar.
Let the sugar dissolve completely before adding cashews and raisins.
Add saffron and milk. Turn off the flame and mix well. Serve the halwa after 5-8 minutes.
