It is said that when you visit a new country, eat like a local. Well, the saying has meaning behind it. Here are countries that have strict dining etiquettes that you should follow.
It is considered inauspicious to eat with your left hand in India. South Africa too has this rule.
Leaving behind any grains of rice is considered impolite in Japan.
Never eat bread with your hands in France as it is seen as rude.
Unlike Japan, it is considered polite in China to leave behind a little food in your plate.
When in Thailand, avoid using chopsticks to pass food directly to someone's chopsticks, as it's reminiscent of a burial custom.
Do not add extra seasonings or flavours to your food as it's considered disrespectful to the chef's choice and method.
In Russia, it's customary to keep your hands visible on the table during the meal. Resting your wrists on the edge of the table is considered impolite.

How much food is too much? Well, in Saudi Arabia, it's impolite to refuse food when offered, especially by the host.
Beware if you have a cold! In Korea, when eating soup or stew, it's considered rude to blow your nose at the table. Excuse yourself and do the needful.
