Despite the decline of Mughal empire in Delhi in mid 17th century, the Mughlai food found new lease of life in Old Delhi. Several khansamas started their eateries that have now attained cult status. 

With eateries old and new, Purani Dilli is now a major foodie destination in India, we compiled a list of 9 best places, and what to eat there, for you.  

Amir Malik Sharbat Wala 

Situated in Matia Mahal, this tiny push cart is responsible for spreading love, one sip at a time with its ‘Pyaar Mohabbat Sharbat’-a milky drink made with milk, rooh-afza and watermelon cubes. 

Aslam Butter Chicken

Roasted chicken served in a pool of melted butter and chaat masala. This ‘other butter chicken’ of Delhi has a legion of fans. 

Kallan Sweets

Established more than 100 years ago, this shop is famous for its sweets made in desi ghee, we have a soft corner for its Paneer Jalebi and Khoya Samosa.  

Cool Point
