Idiyappam is a traditional South Indian dish that is popularly made for festive occasions. Buy who said you need to for Onam to have idiyappam. If you want to celebrate the flavours of Kerela, here’s a recipe.
2 cups rice flour 1 cup hot water 1/4 teaspoon salt Coconut milk gravy
Mix rice flour, salt, and hot water. Stir to make a soft dough.
Take a small portion of the dough and stuff it into the cylindrical holes of an idiyappam pot.
Press the dough down firmly to ensure it fills the holes evenly.
Boil some water and place the idiyappam pot over it. Steam till it is fluffy.
Remove the pot from the steamer and unmould the noodles. Serve with coconut milk gravy.
