When it comes to street food, Mumbai Pav Bhaji reigns supreme. Mumbai Pav Bhaji has become a symbol of Mumbai's street food culture and is loved by people of all ages. It is a dish that is both comforting and satisfying, and its popularity shows no signs of slowing down.
4 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and mashed 1 cup cauliflower florets, boiled and mashed 1 cup green peas, boiled and mashed 2 medium-sized onions, finely chopped 2 medium-sized tomatoes, finely chopped 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
2 green chilies, finely chopped 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp red chili powder 1 tsp turmeric powder 2 tsp pav bhaji masala 4 tbsp butter Salt to taste 4-6 pav bread rolls Chopped coriander leaves for garnish
In a pan, heat 2 tbsp of butter and add cumin seeds, ginger-garlic paste, and green chilies. Sauté for a minute.
Add onions and cook until translucent. Add tomatoes and cook until they are soft and mushy.
Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, and pav bhaji masala. Mix well and cook for a minute.
Add the mashed vegetables and mix well. Add salt to taste and 1-2 cups of water to adjust the consistency of the mixture and simmer on low.
Add the remaining butter and mix well. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Slice the pav bread rolls into half and toast them on a griddle with some butter until they are slightly crispy and golden brown.
