Dates Halwa is a delicious and healthy dessert made with the natural sweetness of dates. Perfect for any occasion, especially Diwali. Rich in flavour and texture and guilt-free.
200 gms dates (khajur) ¼ cup ghee 2 tsp cashews 2 tsp almonds 1 cup water ¼ cup grated coconut ¼ tsp cardamom powder 2 tsp sugar
Soak chopped dates in warm water for 30 minutes. Blend into a smooth paste.
In a pan, heat ghee, and add chopped cashews and almonds. Roast until golden. Set aside.
In the same pan, add the remaining ghee. Add dates paste and cook for 5-7 minutes on medium heat.
Add grated coconut and cardamom powder. Mix well. Add sugar if required and cook until thick.
Mix in the roasted nuts and cook for 2-3 minutes. Let it cool slightly and serve warm or at room temperature.
