Dal paratha is a stuffed paratha made by stuffing a mixture of chana dal and spices. This variation of stuffed paratha with lentils is popular in Punjabi homes and is usually made for breakfast. Here is how to make this paratha:
1 cup chana dal ¼ tsp turmeric ½ tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder ½ tsp amchur ½ tsp garam masala ½ tsp cumin powder ¼ tsp ajwain ½ tsp salt Coriander leaves Wheat flour for the dough Oil
Soak chana dal for 3 hours; boil until soft but intact.
Drain, let sit for 30 minutes, then grind into a fine powder.
Mix turmeric, chilli powder, aamchur, garam masala, cumin powder, ajwain, salt, and coriander leaves.
Knead dough of wheat and divide the dough into small balls for paratha.
Place chana dal stuffing in the centre, pleat edges to the centre.
Roll the stuffed dough slightly thick, and cook on a hot tawa with oil on both sides.
Serve hot chana dal paratha with sauce, raita, or pickle.
