Basking in the winter sun on lazy afternoons, munching on your favourite chikki. Nostalgic yet? Here’s how you can make those sweet brittles at home.
– Jaggery 2 to 4 pieces – Makhane powder 1 cup – Peanuts 1 cup – Cardamom powder 2 teaspoon – Water 4 tablespoon – Ghee 1 tablespoon
Boil water in a pan and add jaggery. Wait for the jaggery to melt.
When jaggery melts, add a teaspoon of ghee and mix.
Then add peanuts and mix again. After another minute add crushed foxnuts and mix again.
In a tray greased with ghee pour the hot mixture and with the help of a rolling pin, roll it flat. The thickness should be 1 cm.
Let it cool and stiffen, while it is still soft, cut the chikki into equal-shaped pieces. Serve and store the rest in air-tight containers.
