Uttapam is a popular South Indian dish and is often enjoyed as a healthy breakfast and snack. If you want to make a perfect uttapam, follow these quick tips.
To make the perfect uttapam, make the batter by using rice and urad dal in a ratio of 3:1.
Before cooking the uttapam, let the batter ferment for at least six hours.
After the batter is fermented, grind the mixture coarsely till it’s smooth and dense.
Adding some chopped methi leaves balances the subtle sweet flavour of the uttapam.
Instead of blending at full speed, do it in pulses to incorporate air into the batter, making it light.
Once ready, let the batter rest for about 15 minutes before cooking the uttapam.
