Idli, the South Indian staple, is a go-to breakfast option all across the globe. If you don’t have a traditional idli maker, you can make soft and fluffy idlis in a microwave using these simple steps.
Make the idli batter with soaked rice and urad dal. Blend the grains and water till smooth.
Grease the microwave-safe idli plates with a little oil so the batter doesn’t stick to the bottom.
Pour the batter into the idli plates and fill them to about three-fourths, leaving space for the idlis to rise.
Cover the idli plates and cook in the microwave for about five minutes.
After the idlis are fully cooked, set them aside for about two minutes to cool down.
After two minutes, take the idlis out of the mould and enjoy them with sambar and chutney.
