How To Make Restaurant Style Salt And Pepper Prawns

Crunchy, crispy, spicy and delicious. They're everyone's favourite seafood starter.  And they're really easy to whip up in your own kitchen!

Ingredients

500 gms prawns 1 tsp black peppercorns ½ tsp sea salt 1 tbsp soy sauce 5-6 cornflour 3-4 red chillies 3 spring onions 6-7 cloves of garlic 2 inches ginger Oil to fry

Step 1

Pound the peppercorns and salt into a textured powder. Clean and devein your prawns and marinade them in soy sauce for 15 minutes. Finely chop the ginger and garlic, slice the spring onions and chillies.

Step 2

Dip each marinated prawn in cornflour and shake off the excess. Deep fry in oil for 5-6 minutes until golden brown.

Step 3

Set the prawns aside and in another pan fry the garlic, ginger and chillies until they start to brown.  Add the prawns, sprinkle in the salt and pepper to taste and cook for 30 seconds. Garnish with spring onions and serve hot.
