Punjabi food is known for its finger-licking spices. If you want to make a savouri sabzi, try this Punjabi-style mushroom masala to relish all the flavours. Here’s an easy recipe that you can follow.
400 grams button mushrooms 1 onion 3 tomatoes 1 ginger 2 cloves garlic 3 tablespoons oil 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 2 cloves 1 inch cinnamon stick 2 green cardamoms 1 black cardamom 1 bay leaf 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder Salt to taste Chopped coriander leaves
Wash the mushrooms and dry them before slicing.
Take a pan and heat some oil. Add cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon, green cardamoms, black cardamom, and bay leaf and cook till you get an aroma.
Chop an onion and add to the pan till it becomes translucent. Then, add ginger, garlic, and pureed tomatoes and cook till you get a uniform gravy.
Add spices like coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and garam masala powder. After a minute add sliced mushrooms.
Check the consistency and balance it by adding some water. Cook till the mushrooms are tender.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
