It is an interesting and flavoured recipe made with long-grain rice and coconut milk. This rice-based dish is made across India and it is one of the most sought dish. Because of the simplicity of this dish. Here is how to make this:
2 tbsp oil 1 tsp cumin/jeera 2 pods cardamom 1 inch cinnamon stick 4 cloves ½ tsp fennel/saunf 1 bay leaf 12 cashew/kaju 1 onion 1 tsp ginger garlic paste 1 carrot 5 beans 2 tbsp peas matar 2 cups coconut milk 1 cup basmati rice salt Coriander
In a cooker heat oil and saute cumin, cardamom, cinnamon stick, cloves, fennel and bay leaf.
Add cashews and roast to golden brown.
further add chopped onion, ginger, and garlic paste and saute until the raw aroma disappears.
Add carrot, beans and peas, and saute for a minute. Now add coconut milk and mix well.
Add basmati rice and salt, cover and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
Now add coriander leaves and mix well before serving.
