Butter Murukku is a simple, deep-fried snack made from rice flour, urad dal flour, and butter, known for its soft and tender texture. This traditional treat is especially popular during festivals, providing a delightful balance to the assortment of sweets.
3 cups ce flour ¾ cup urad dal flour 2 tbsp sesame Pinch hing 1 tsp salt 3 tbsp butter, softened Water, for kneading Oil, for frying
Mix 3 cups rice flour, ¾ cup urad dal flour, 2 tbsp sesame, a pinch of hing, and 1 tsp salt in a large bowl.
Add 3 tbsp softened butter and mix well until the flour is moist.
Slowly add water and knead to form a smooth and soft dough.
Grease the chakli maker with oil and fix the star mould.
Form a cylindrical shape from the dough and place it inside the chakli maker.
Press the chakli dough into hot oil and fry on medium flame until crispy on both sides.
Drain the murukku on a paper towel to remove excess oil and cool before storing.
