Oats idli are light, fluffy, and easy-to-make recipes that are a perfect breakfast option. Oats idli takes a minimal amount of time to prepare and requires no fermentation process. Here is a recipe to try:
1 cup powdered oats ¼ teaspoon mustard seeds ½ teaspoon cumin seeds 1 teaspoon of urad dal 1 finely chopped green chilli 1 teaspoon chopped ginger A few curry leaves ½ cup semolina Water, as required ½ cup curd Grated carrots, peas and a few coriander leaves ½ teaspoon baking soda Pinch of soda Oil as required
Pour oil into a hot pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and urad dal; sprinkle a pinch of hing; and sauté until the seeds pop and the dal turns brown.
Add green chillies, chopped ginger, curry leaves and semolina, continue to sauté. Add powdered oats and salt. Mix and fry on low heat. Later, set it aside to cool.
Once cooled, add 1 cup of water and curd. Mix well and set aside for 10 minutes.
Add lemon juice, grated carrots, peas and coriander leaves to the oats and semolina mix. Grease each idli plate with a few drops of oil and keep them aside.
Add water to the steamer and set it to a boil. As the water boils, add baking soda to it. You can see the bubbles in the mixture. The mixture has to go right away for steaming.
Pour the idli batter into the greased idli plates. Cover and steam for 11–12 minutes before cooling and serving them.
