Marzipan is a delicious sweet paste made from ground almonds, sugar, and sometimes egg whites. It's often used in baking, confectionery, and as a dessert topping. Making marzipan at home is easy and rewarding, and allows you to control the ingredients and customize the flavour.
2 cups ground almonds 2 cups powdered sugar 2 egg whites 1 teaspoon almond extract (optional) Food coloring (optional)
In a large bowl, mix together the ground almonds and powdered sugar until well combined.
Beat the egg whites in a separate bowl until frothy, then add them to the almond mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
If desired, add almond extract and a few drops of food coloring to the dough and knead until evenly colored.
Wrap the marzipan in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before using.
Colour and shape as you need to create your own Easter masterpieces.
