How To Make Kulukki Sarbath, A Refreshing South Indian Summer Drink

Kulukki Sarbath is a refreshing and delicious summer drink straight from the heart of Kerala. It is made with yoghurt, water, spices, and ice, coming together to create a tangy and cooling beverage perfect for hot days.  

Ingredients

2 cups plain yoghurt   4 cups of water   1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom A pinch of ground nutmeg   1 inch of ginger, peeled and chopped   1 teaspoon sugar or honey (optional)   Ice cubes   Mint leaves for garnish  

Step 1

Whisk the yoghurt and water in a bowl.   

Step 2

Grind cardamom, nutmeg, and chopped ginger into a paste. Add a splash of water if needed.  

Step 3

Stir the spice paste into the yoghurt mixture until fully incorporated.  

Step 4

Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour the Kulukki Sarbath over the ice.  

Step 5

Garnish with mint leaves and serve chilled. Sip and enjoy this cooling beverage on a hot summer day!
