Idli is one of the most popular South Indian breakfast choices. To make the fluffiest idlis, here is how you can make the perfect batter. With just the basic ingredients, follow these steps to make idli batter.
1 cup urad dal 3 cups rice 1/4 cup fenugreek seeds Water as required Salt to taste
Rinse and soak urad dal, rice, and fenugreek seeds for 5-6 hours or overnight.
Drain the water and grind the soaked mixture.
Add water to make the batter slightly thicker than a regular pancake batter.
Allow the batter to ferment for at least 8 hours till it is frothy or bubbly.
Once the batter is ready, you can pour it into moulds and steam the idlis.
