Chikki is a sweet Indian snack cum dessert which is traditionally made with jaggery (gur) and works wonders to keep us warm. Here is a recipe with peanut you must try this season.
Ingredients
200 gms jaggery
1 cup roasted peanuts
½ cup cashews
1 tsp crushed fennel seeds
2 tsp sesame seeds
½ tsp salt
Take the jaggery chunks and roughly chop them into small pieces. Add the jaggery into pan and let it melt. Mix well to break the lumps.
Once the jaggery melts, add roasted peanuts and chopped cashews. Mix well. Add crushed fennel seeds, sesame seeds and salt. Mix well.
Now cook the mixture on low flame till it thickens.
Once done, transfer the mixture on a thali greased with ghee. Spread it evenly and make cut marks on it.
Let it cool down and it will get hardened. Break into small pieces and serve.
