Gulab Jamun, a beloved Indian dessert, can be easily made at home with this simple and delicious recipe.
1 cup khoya (mawa) 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (maida) 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 2 tablespoons milk 1 tablespoon ghee 1-2 cups sugar 1 cup water 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder Ghee or oil for frying
Mix khoya, flour, and baking soda. Add ghee and milk to form a smooth dough. Divide into small balls.
Boil sugar and water until it reaches a syrupy consistency. Add cardamom powder and set aside.
Heat ghee/oil. Fry the dough balls on low heat until golden brown.
Soak fried balls in warm sugar syrup for at least 30 minutes. Garnish with nuts and serve warm or at room temperature.
