Sabudana Upma is made with tapioca pearls, roasted peanuts, and boiled potatoes. This dish is mainly made during fasting, but it can be a good, light, yet fulfilling breakfast dish. Here is how to make delicious Sabudana upma:
2 cups sabudana 3 boiled potatoes 1 tsp peanut powder ½ tsp black pepper powder ¼ tsp turmeric powder 2 tsp raw peanuts 1 strand curry leaves ½ inch ginger 2 green chillies ½ tsp mustard seeds ½ tsp cumin seeds 1 tbsp coconut oil 2 tsp lemon juice Salt to taste
Soak the sabudana for at least 3-5 hours.
Boil the potatoes; once boiled, chop them into small cubes.
Dry roast peanuts and blend them into a fine powder.
Heat a pan and add coconut oil.
Add raw peanuts and fry until golden brown.
Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
Add curry leaves, grated ginger, and chopped green chillies.
Add the soaked pearls, salt, black pepper, and turmeric powder. Mix it well.
Cover it with a lid and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add boiled potatoes and powdered peanuts.
Perfect sabudana upma is ready.
