Chaat masala is the secret ingredient that elevates the taste of Indian snacks. But since the store-bought masalas have preservatives, here’s a chaat masala recipe you can try at home.
2 tbsp cumin seeds 2 tbsp coriander seeds 2-inch piece dry ginger 1 dried red chilli 2 tbsp black peppercorns ½ tsp cloves ½ nutmeg 3 tbsp dried mint leaves ¼ cup dry mango powder (amchur) ½ tsp hing 1 tsp salt
Dry roast coriander seeds till they are slightly brown. Transfer them to a plate.
Roast dry ginger, red chilli, black peppercorns, cloves, and nutmeg until fragrant.
Once cooled, mix all the roasted spices, dried mint leaves, amchur, hing, and salt.
Grind the mixture into a fine powder.
Transfer it into an air-tight container, and your chaat masala will be ready.
